Instructions for Authors
1. Manuscript Types
- Original Research Articles: Up to 6,000 words excluding abstract, references, tables, and figures.
- Review Articles: Comprehensive reviews of up to 8,000 words excluding abstract, references, tables, and figures.
- Policy Analyses: Up to 4,000 words excluding abstract, references, tables, and figures.
- Case Studies: Up to 3,500 words excluding abstract, references, tables, and figures.
- Commentaries and Opinion Pieces: Up to 2,000 words excluding references.
- Field Reports: Up to 3,000 words excluding abstract, references, tables, and figures.
- Global Health Data and Statistics: Up to 5,000 words excluding abstract, references, tables, and figures.
- Innovative Practices and Technologies: Up to 4,000 words excluding abstract, references, tables, and figures.
- Ethical Considerations in Global Health Equity: Up to 4,000 words excluding abstract, references, tables, and figures.
- Educational Resources and Training: Up to 3,500 words excluding abstract, references, tables, and figures.
2. General Format
- File Format: Submit manuscripts as Microsoft Word documents.
- Font and Spacing: Use Times New Roman, 12-point font, double-spaced.
- Margins: 1-inch margins on all sides.
- Page Numbers: Include page numbers in the bottom right corner.
3. Structure of Manuscripts
- Title Page: Include the title of the manuscript, names and affiliations of all authors, corresponding author’s contact information, and a short running title.
- Abstract: A structured abstract of up to 300 words for research articles and reviews; unstructured abstracts of up to 200 words for other manuscripts.
- Keywords: Provide 4-6 keywords relevant to the manuscript.
- Main Text: Organized into sections as appropriate (e.g., Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion).
- References: Follow the AMA style for referencing.
- Tables and Figures: Include tables and figures at the end of the manuscript, with appropriate titles and legends.
4. References
- Use the American Medical Association (AMA) style.
- Number references consecutively in the order they are cited in the text.
- Use superscript numbers for in-text citations.
- Include all authors for works with up to six authors; for works with more than six authors, list the first three followed by “et al.”
5. Ethical Considerations
- Ensure compliance with ethical standards for research involving human subjects.
- Include a statement of ethical approval from an appropriate institutional review board (IRB) or ethics committee.
- Provide consent statements for any identifiable data involving human subjects.
6. Conflicts of Interest
- Authors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that could bias their work.
- Include a conflict of interest statement within the manuscript.
7. Data Availability
- Provide a statement on the availability of data and materials.
- Encourage sharing of data to enhance transparency and reproducibility.
8. Supplementary Material
- Submit supplementary material separately from the main manuscript file.
- Clearly label and refer to the supplementary material in the main text.
Submission Process
1. Online Submission
- Submit manuscripts via our online submission system at [Journal’s Submission Portal URL].
- Create an account or log in to submit your manuscript and track its progress.
2. Cover Letter
- Include a cover letter addressing the editor-in-chief.
- Briefly describe the significance of the study and its relevance to global health equity.
- Confirm that the manuscript is original, not previously published, and not under consideration elsewhere.
3. Peer Review
- All manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review.
- Authors may suggest potential reviewers, but the final selection is at the editor’s discretion.
4. Revisions
- If revisions are required, authors will be given a timeline to resubmit the revised manuscript.
- Include a detailed response to reviewers’ comments with the resubmission.
5. Accepted Manuscripts
- Upon acceptance, the corresponding author will receive proofs for final review.
- Ensure timely correction and return of proofs to avoid publication delays.
Post-Acceptance
1. Open Access
- All articles are published under an open-access model.
- An article processing charge (APC) may apply; waivers and discounts are available based on need and funding sources.
2. Copyright
- Authors retain copyright of their work.
- Published under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY), allowing sharing and adaptation with proper attribution.
3. Promotion
- Authors are encouraged to promote their work through social media, academic networks, and professional communities.
- The journal may also feature selected articles in press releases and newsletters.
